Data Engineer, Event Data
Job Summary
Joining a newly formed team, the remote Data Engineer, Event Data will design, build, and maintain event streaming pipelines and analytical databases, utilizing Elixir and Python to enhance the processing and availability of client and internal event data.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and maintain event streaming pipelines to ingest data from various sources into the data platform
- Develop and operate analytical databases optimized for high-volume event data queries
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable event data products
Required qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Elixir and/or Python for building data services and pipeline components
- Advanced SQL skills for data modeling and query optimization
- Hands-on experience with columnar/OLAP databases at production scale
- Experience with stream processing frameworks and message brokers such as Apache Flink or Kafka
- Demonstrated ability to integrate and migrate systems between legacy and modern architectures
