Data Engineer - GCP

Job Summary

To support cutting-edge medical education and research, the remote contract Data Engineer - GCP will deploy and optimize Globus Managed File Transfer (MFT) within a GCP hosted Data DMZ, ensuring secure and compliant data workflows while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and operationalize Globus Connect Server within a GCP hosted Data DMZ
• Manage large scale data transfers and monitor platform health to ensure reliability and performance
• Support onboarding of research users and provide operational assistance while ensuring compliance with security standards

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Globus MFT and Google Cloud Platform
• Advanced SQL skills for querying and troubleshooting complex datasets
• Experience with Linux system administration and Bash scripting
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an Associate's degree with two years of relevant experience
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and ETL processes
