Data Engineer Project Lead

Job Summary

Leading data projects in a remote full-time capacity, the Data Engineer Project Lead will oversee the design, development, and implementation of data management, reporting, and workflow automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making for Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex data engineering projects from planning through deployment, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability
• Design and maintain data pipelines, ETL processes, databases, and reporting systems while establishing data governance and compliance standards
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project team members, facilitating collaboration and continuous improvement efforts

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or related technical fields
• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
• Advanced knowledge of database design, data modeling, and ETL development
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
