Data Engineering Manager

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to oversee technical architecture and data management strategies in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build a metadata-driven file ingestion framework on Databricks aligned with medallion architecture
• Lead onboarding of datasets using pattern-based ingestion and define data contracts including schema and data quality rules
• Collaborate with business and source system teams to establish best practices for file ingestion and ensure strong data quality

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• 7 years of experience in information technology and 4 years in project management
• 8+ years in data engineering with expertise in modern data platforms, particularly Azure
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL for large-scale data processing
• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments, along with knowledge of data governance tools
