Data Engineering Manager

Job Summary

Leading the design and build-out of a cloud-based data platform, the full-time remote Data Engineering Manager will oversee data engineering teams, establish infrastructure for high-quality data, and ensure alignment with analytics and AI needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and develop Data Engineering staff, promoting professional growth and effective workload distribution
• Provide technical and architectural leadership for the data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into data requirements and manage data engineering initiatives

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field; graduate degree preferred
• 3-5 years of experience leading data engineering or closely related technical teams
• Extensive experience with data management, transformation, and modern cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS)
• Advanced SQL skills with a strong understanding of data structure design and optimization
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with data scientists and understanding the impact of engineering choices on analytics and AI
