Data Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

Building and operating data pipelines, the full-time Data Infrastructure Engineer will design scalable data ingestion processes, implement ETL/ELT workflows, and establish a modern data lake on AWS, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement batch and streaming ingestion pipelines from various data sources
• Build and manage a scalable lakehouse on AWS, optimizing for performance and cost
• Implement a managed metadata repository and governance controls to ensure data quality and accessibility

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 0 to 2 years of experience in building production data pipelines and/or data platforms
• Knowledge of data ingestion and ETL/ELT workflows, including data modeling best practices
• Experience with building a data lake/delta lake on AWS using object storage
• Proficiency in SQL and one programming language commonly used for data engineering (Python preferred)
