Data Ingestion Specialist

Job Summary

As a key member of the Data Ingestion & Care Enablement (DICE) team, the remote Data Ingestion Specialist will manage the reliable flow of partner and vendor data into the organization, collaborating with product and data teams to improve data models and pipelines using SQL, dbt, and Python.

Key responsibilities

• Support the ingestion of various healthcare-related data sources by configuring new ingestions, debugging issues, and standardizing processes
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable data mapping and validation logic
• Utilize tools like Dagster and GitHub Actions to automate data pipelines and monitor performance, ensuring reliability and efficient incident response

Required qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with dbt, with a willingness to enhance expertise
• Working knowledge of Python for data investigation and experience operating data pipelines
• Experience in testing and maintaining data quality, including writing tests and addressing failures
• Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders to improve pipeline transparency
• Exposure to healthcare data (claims, eligibility, ADT, etc.) is a plus
