Data Migration Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the data layer of the platform, the full-time remote Data Migration Engineer will design data models, manage the migration of legacy systems, and ensure data quality through automated reconciliation and monitoring.

Key responsibilities:

• Own the target data model and manage the data workstream for legacy-platform replacement, including profiling, mapping, extraction, transformation, and verification
• Design data contracts for integrations and provide a safe foundation for low-code applications, ensuring data surfaces are governed and accessible
• Build and maintain automated reconciliation processes and data-quality evidence to ensure trustworthy data throughout the migration and beyond

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years in data engineering, database engineering, or migration-heavy roles
• Expertise in SQL (SQL Server and Postgres) and a scripting language (Python or TypeScript) for pipeline work
• Experience with operational data modeling and designing schemas that multiple teams or systems consume
• Completion of at least one production migration of a business-critical system, with detailed reconciliation
• Experience creating sanitized or synthetic test data from production systems and managing datasets across environments
