Data Operations Support Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely on a night shift schedule, the part-time Data Operations Support Engineer will provide support for big data operations in AWS, focusing on monitoring batch processing, automating data monitoring with Python, and managing cloud infrastructure while ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage big data operations activities on AWS, including batch processing and issue remediation
• Automate data monitoring using Python scripting and manage batch schedules with tools like JAMS
• Ensure reliability and performance of cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS and Azure environments

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline with at least five years of related experience
• Experience with SQL, Postgres, or equivalent databases and proficiency in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell
• Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch) and Azure cloud solutions
• Past experience as a senior systems administrator in a production environment
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins and GitLab
