Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

As one of the first Data Platform Engineers, the full-time position will own and optimize the data lakehouse architecture, ensuring reliable and secure data systems while collaborating with various teams to support a fast-growing data environment, with options for remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Own and improve Cursor's Databricks and lakehouse infrastructure as data volume scales
• Build and optimize ingestion systems for first-party product data and third-party business systems
• Ensure observability, alerting, and operational standards across all data infrastructure layers

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of full-time data platform engineering experience
• Experience building modern data stacks at a low level
• Proven ability to scale ingestion of billions of data points per day
• Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration infrastructure, with Dagster experience preferred
• Desire to build foundational systems for data-savvy users
