Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To support large-scale environmental research, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will design, support, and evolve data infrastructure, ensuring reliable ingestion, transformation, and delivery of critical environmental data across cloud and hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage PostgreSQL databases and optimize SQL-based workflows for high-performance data processing
• Automate data workflows using Python and contribute to CI/CD practices for database provisioning
• Collaborate with federal stakeholders to translate data orchestration needs into scalable, automated solutions

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Experience managing PostgreSQL databases and writing efficient SQL
• Proficient in Python for automating data workflows
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control using GitLab or GitHub
• Comfortable using AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS for cloud-based applications
