Data Platform Engineer

Job Summary

To support enterprise data initiatives, the full-time remote Data Platform Engineer will craft, advance, and maintain infrastructure and systems for managing and optimizing data, focusing on data product lifecycle, security, and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with data platform architects to design platform tooling, services, and integrations
• Build and maintain data lake and streaming architectures to support data platform services
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to product and data engineers while optimizing data processing workflows

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python, and knowledge of object and functional design patterns
• Experience with Apache Spark and understanding of ELT/ETL patterns in distributed compute systems
• Familiarity with data quality tooling and observability systems, as well as standard practices of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
