Data Platform Operations Manager

Job Summary

Leading a team of data professionals, the full-time remote Data Platform Operations Manager will oversee database operations, manage cloud migration efforts, and ensure compliance with data governance while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance data platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of DBAs, Data Engineers, and ETL Engineers, fostering a collaborative work environment
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of database systems, ensuring high availability and performance
• Drive the migration of on-premises workloads to Google Cloud Platform and implement modern data architecture practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with expertise in ETL, data warehousing, and database administration
• 3+ years of experience managing or leading a team of data engineers or DBAs
• Strong understanding of database systems (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, BigQuery) and programming languages (Python, R)
• Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform
