Data Platform Software Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Data Platform Software Engineer, this position in Kansas City, MO (remote eligible) will design, implement, and optimize a cloud-native data stack using open-source tools, focusing on data ingestion, transformation, and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Java, Python, and Apache technologies
• Support metadata management and enforce governance policies related to data quality and compliance
• Automate workflows and implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment and infrastructure management

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in software and data engineering with a focus on cloud-based data platforms
• Strong programming skills in Java or Python
• Knowledge of Apache Iceberg, Flink, Spark, Kafka, and Trino
• Familiarity with cloud-native tools such as Kubernetes, Ansible, and CI/CD operations
