Data QA Engineer

Job Summary

Focused on ensuring data integrity, the full-time remote Data QA Engineer will design and build automated testing frameworks, write SQL queries for data validation, and investigate discrepancies within data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Build automated data testing frameworks, including test plans and validation logic for ETL/ELT pipelines
• Write and optimize SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform source-to-target reconciliation
• Investigate data discrepancies, file defect reports, and collaborate with engineering to validate fixes

Required qualifications

• Expert-level SQL skills with experience in complex queries for data validation and reconciliation
• Proven ability to build automated data testing frameworks from scratch using relevant tools
• Proficiency in Python for scripting automation and integrating with CI/CD pipelines
• Background in data QA, ETL testing, or data engineering, rather than traditional UI/front-end QA
• Strong analytical skills to investigate data issues and communicate findings effectively
