Data Science Manager

Job Summary

Managing a team of skilled data scientists, the full-time remote Data Science Manager for Application Fraud will lead the development of fraud detection models and guide product innovation while acting as a technical mentor and collaborating with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage and mentor a growing team of data scientists, overseeing their development and project execution
• Lead planning and communication efforts with senior leadership, product, and engineering teams to ensure alignment on objectives
• Develop and maintain fraud detection models throughout their lifecycle, from data acquisition to production and monitoring

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Master's degree or 7+ years with a PhD in a related field
• 2-5 years of experience managing a team of data scientists, preferably in a startup environment
• Strong practical knowledge of machine learning and statistics, with experience in end-to-end data science development
• Proven ability to solve complex business problems using data science and machine learning solutions
• Experience writing production code and tests, with a willingness to develop deep domain expertise in fraud detection
