Data Science Manager

Job Summary

Leading a small, high-output team, the remote Data Science Manager will manage end-to-end delivery of data science projects, oversee the design and maintenance of data pipelines, and provide mentorship while collaborating with stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Own the delivery of high-impact data science projects from initial business requests to production-ready systems
• Directly manage and mentor a team of 2-4 data scientists, establishing team norms and performance expectations
• Translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined analytical and modeling work, ensuring alignment with product context

Required qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field or bachelor's degree with significant professional experience
• 6+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
• 1+ year of direct people management or formal technical lead experience
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python, with a focus on production code
• Hands-on experience with machine learning, including model training, evaluation, and deployment
