Data Scientist Consultant

Job Summary

Owning the development of forecasting models, the full-time Data Scientist Consultant will work remotely to build, validate, and optimize demand forecasts, transforming healthcare data into actionable insights for operators.

Key responsibilities

• Build and iterate production-grade demand and volume forecasts while evaluating models through backtesting and real-world performance
• Define input data contracts for optimization models and transform raw data into model-ready features
• Communicate model outputs and recommendations clearly to non-technical users, participating in client conversations to explain model behavior

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science or applied analytics
• Proven experience owning forecasting models in production
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with the ability to handle large datasets
• Experience working with messy data and translating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with capacity-constrained systems and optimization solvers is preferred
