Data Security Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a senior-level Data Security Engineer, the contract position will operate remotely and focus on enhancing data protection capabilities through the engineering and operationalization of data security solutions, particularly Microsoft Purview, while managing alert triage and incident routing.

Key Responsibilities

• Triage and investigate data security alerts, prioritizing incidents based on risk and business impact
• Communicate security issues and compliance gaps to stakeholders and vendors
• Support remediation efforts for internal and external data security issues

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data security, cybersecurity engineering, or cloud security roles
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview is preferred
• Knowledge of data protection techniques, including encryption and tokenization
• Familiarity with structured data and databases
• Understanding of insider threat detection and anomaly detection techniques
