Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support the Data Management Department, the remote Database Administrator will manage and optimize SQL Server, Oracle, and MariaDB databases, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement security and backup procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and optimize SQL Server, Oracle, and MariaDB databases for performance and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues and job failures independently
• Implement and maintain database security, backup, and recovery procedures

Required qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Server environments (2012-2023) and strong T-SQL scripting skills
• Deep understanding of database troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security management
• Experience with high-availability environments including clustering, replication, and mirroring
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex database issues and manage ticket queues
• Familiarity with database tools such as Idera and knowledge of licensing for SQL and Oracle systems
