Database Administrator

Job Summary

To support critical database operations, the full-time Database Administrator III will manage T-SQL performance tuning, configuration, and administration of database management systems while ensuring service level agreements are met and providing off-hour production support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform T-SQL performance tuning and resolve production issues using SQL Server and third-party tools
• Conduct database administration tasks including backups, maintenance plans, and enforcing database policies
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to support the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and provide cross-training to junior DBAs

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree with five years of database administration experience, or seven years of experience without a degree
• Proficiency in creating T-SQL scripts and managing complex SQL databases
• Experience with SQL replication and high availability architectures
• Familiarity with Cognizant/TriZetto Facets data model/application is a plus
• Health care experience and knowledge of programming languages are advantageous
