Job Summary
Seeking an experienced and innovative Database Administrator - Massachusetts, the full-time role will focus on managing database infrastructure, ensuring stability and performance, and collaborating with engineers to optimize queries in a cloud-based environment.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and alert on database performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively
- Optimize MySQL configurations and improve query performance through indexing and execution plans
- Automate routine maintenance tasks and manage database upgrades and migrations with minimal risk
Required qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience administering MySQL or similar databases in production
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including RDS and Aurora
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and agile methodologies
- Commitment to mentoring junior team members and contributing to team growth
