Database Administrator Project Lead

Job Summary

Leading a critical public sector initiative, the full-time contract Database Administrator Project Lead will manage IDMS databases in a z/OS mainframe environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance and security while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the deployment, administration, and tuning of IDMS databases in a z/OS mainframe environment
• Collaborate with development teams to maintain, optimize, and secure test, staging, and production databases
• Monitor IDMS performance and implement solutions for optimal operation

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience with IDMS deployment and operations on z/OS mainframe systems
• 15+ years of expertise in IDMS security management, including ADS/O and relational database objects
• 10+ years of experience with IDMS SQL option and relational model databases
• Bachelor's degree in IT, business, or related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent experience
• Strong project management and leadership skills
