Database Architect

Job Summary

To strengthen the foundation of data systems for a growing SaaS platform, the remote Database Architect will own database architecture, performance, reliability, security, and scalability while leveraging AI tools for analysis and workflow improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own database architecture, performance, reliability, security, and scalability for core platform systems
• Design database approaches for both single-tenant and multi-tenant SaaS environments, including migration strategies
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data Engineering on schema design, data modeling, migrations, and performance-sensitive application changes

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in database administration, architecture, or backend systems engineering
• Strong experience supporting production databases for SaaS or customer-facing platforms
• Deep experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
• Understanding of tenant isolation and shared database models in SaaS architectures
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted database environments, preferably AWS RDS or related services
