Database Consultant

Job Summary

To support enterprise database platforms, the contract Database Consultant will manage database administration, backup and recovery operations, and incident management while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, configure, and maintain database environments, ensuring security standards and backup integrity
• Perform database backup, restore, and recovery operations, including point-in-time restores and disaster recovery activities
• Monitor ticket queues, respond to incidents, and coordinate with teams for issue resolution while performing root cause analysis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of database administration experience in enterprise environments
• Hands-on expertise in at least two database technologies, such as IBM Db2, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, or PostgreSQL
• Experience with backup and recovery tools like IBM Storage Protect and Commvault
• Strong operating system knowledge in Linux, AIX, or Windows Server
