Database Developer

Job Summary

Supporting a public-sector technology initiative, the full-time contractor Database Developer will modernize, maintain, and optimize enterprise database solutions for the Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services, working remotely to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, including stored procedures and SQL scripts
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines and data workflows using SSIS, SQL Server, Python, and/or PySpark
• Lead large-scale data conversion and migration efforts, ensuring data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance

Required qualifications:

• 10 or more years of experience in database development or data engineering
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL development, and database performance tuning
• Experience with ETL development using SSIS, Python, or PySpark
• Knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data integration practices
• Experience with SSRS and Power BI reporting solutions
