Database Engineer

Job Summary

Designing and optimizing large-scale MySQL database environments, the full-time Database Engineer will ensure high-performance query execution and reliable operations in a remote setting while collaborating with engineering and analytics teams to modernize database architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evolve MySQL schemas to support scalable, multi-tenant architectures
• Optimize complex SQL queries and resolve systemic database performance issues
• Implement and automate database change management, schema deployments, and migrations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with relational databases
• Strong experience with MySQL design, performance tuning, and optimization
• Experience supporting large-scale or multi-terabyte database environments
• Strong SQL skills with a focus on query performance and optimization
