Database Engineer
Job Summary
To support data platform initiatives, the full-time contract Database Engineer will architect and scale data platforms, build robust data pipelines, and develop production-grade data services while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and evolve enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and storage systems to support scalable analytics
- Develop reusable ETL/ELT frameworks and connectors for processing structured and unstructured data using distributed systems
- Implement reliable backend systems and RESTful APIs in Python, ensuring best practices in code quality and performance optimization
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience
- 5+ years of strong programming experience in Python, with the ability to build production-grade data pipelines
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in Spark/PySpark, building and optimizing Spark pipelines
- 2+ years of experience building backend systems and implementing RESTful APIs using frameworks like FastAPI, Django, or Flask
- Exposure to data orchestration and pipeline tools such as Airflow or Dagster
