Database Engineer Consultant

Job Summary

To support the development of a cloud-based geospatial microplanning solution for vaccination campaigns, the full-time Database Engineer Consultant will design, implement, and validate database structures and data management processes focused on identifying zero-dose measles vaccination gaps, working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and document data requirements, source inventory, and technical planning to support project objectives and analytical outputs
• Design the database architecture and geospatial data model, including core entities, relationships, and metadata for effective data management
• Implement data ingestion, transformation, and quality assurance pipelines to ensure reliable and accurate data for vaccination planning

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or related fields; advanced degree preferred
• At least seven years of professional experience in database engineering or related technical roles, preferably in public health or geospatial analysis
• Demonstrated experience with relational and geospatial databases, including PostgreSQL/PostGIS or equivalent technologies
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and data quality assurance methodologies
• Fluency in advanced Spanish or English, with working knowledge of the other language considered an advantage
