Database Migrations Engineer

Job Summary

To support enterprise customers with database migration needs, the remote Database Migrations Engineer will execute migrations primarily for MySQL and Postgres, assume ownership of the PlanetScale relationship, and productize repeatable migration patterns.

Key responsibilities

• Execute database migrations with enterprise and Private Cloud customers, owning the technical execution during calls
• Assume ownership of the PlanetScale relationship and manage migration work autonomously
• Productize repeatable migration patterns by documenting processes and automating recurring requests

Required qualifications

• Genuine strength across both MySQL and Postgres
• Direct experience with database migrations in a customer-facing capacity
• A productisation instinct to identify and package repeatable patterns
• Strong written and async communication skills
• Comfort operating in a role with scope for definition and development
