Databricks Data Architect

Job Summary

To support a critical engagement with a US defense manufacturer, the full-time Databricks Data Architect will lead the architecture and governance of a Databricks lakehouse platform, managing discovery phases, designing target-state architecture, and implementing solutions in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead discovery sessions across various teams to document data movement and security architecture
• Design the target-state Lakehouse architecture and own the Unity Catalog governance blueprint
• Author deliverables including current-state assessments, implementation roadmaps, and executive readouts for client leadership

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture or data engineering, with multiple production Databricks platform architectures on AWS
• Deep expertise in Unity Catalog, including implementation of row filters and attribute-based access control
• Practical experience translating regulatory requirements into enforceable data policy
• Strong technical writing skills for architecture documents and assessment reports
• US citizenship and ability to pass a background check
