Databricks Solution Architect

Job Summary

Leading the design and implementation of a cloud-based lakehouse platform, the full-time remote Databricks Solution Architect will own the end-to-end architecture, optimize performance, and mentor engineers while collaborating with data science and analytics teams.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement an enterprise lakehouse on Databricks across major clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Design scalable data pipelines using PySpark, Spark SQL, and establish ingestion patterns from various sources
• Define platform standards for data modeling, governance, and optimize Spark workloads for performance and cost

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of data engineering experience with 4+ years on Databricks
• Deep expertise in Apache Spark, including performance tuning and partitioning strategy
• Strong experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Databricks Workflows
• Production experience on at least one major cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with Scala is a plus
