DataOps Engineer
Job Summary
Focusing on the implementation and maintenance of SQL databases, the full-time remote DataOps Engineer will assist in designing data models, support performance tuning of SQL queries, and explore automation solutions to enhance DataOps workflows.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers in designing data models and schemas, participating in code walk-throughs
- Support performance tuning efforts on SQL queries related to applications, storage, and network
- Monitor data service costs and flag potential cost inefficiencies to senior team members
Required qualifications:
- At least 3 years of cloud database design and implementation experience, including Aurora PostgreSQL and Aurora MySQL
- Proficiency in SQL and writing performant queries; experience with SnowSQL is a plus
- Strong experience with relational database design and data modeling techniques
- Familiarity with database Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform or OpenTofu
- Experience with data security and governance techniques, as well as monitoring database systems using AWS services
