Job Summary
Serving as the technical lead and subject matter expert, the remote contract Db2 Systems SME Pod Lead will manage enterprise Db2 for z/OS systems programming and administration, providing infrastructure analysis, solution design, and implementation support for complex mainframe environments.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the installation, configuration, customization, and maintenance of Db2 subsystems in various environments
- Monitor and optimize Db2 system health, performance, and security while managing backup and recovery strategies
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and mentor team members on infrastructure best practices
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mainframe Db2 systems programming and infrastructure administration
- Expert knowledge of Db2 for z/OS systems, including installation and maintenance
- Extensive experience with Monoplex, Sysplex, and Db2 data sharing architectures
- Strong understanding of z/OS operating system administration and middleware integration
