DB2 Team Lead

Job Summary

Leading a global team, the full-time remote DB2 Team Lead will manage comprehensive mainframe DB2 systems, including installation, maintenance, and support of IBM DB2 for z/OS, while coordinating with IBM and vendor partners to address issues and ensure system availability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee global team leadership and manage business-as-usual activities including incident management and database maintenance
• Install and maintain IBM DB2 z/OS software and related third-party products, resolving defects and usage inquiries
• Coordinate backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring the availability of DB2 subsystems

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with IBM System Z and DB2, including SMP/E and various DB2 tools
• Proven ability to lead BAU activities such as break/fix support and incident management
• Extensive experience in configuring DB2 groups and subsystems within SYSPLEX environments
• 5+ years of advanced knowledge in DB2 internal structures and backup/recovery strategies
• Strong analytical skills for problem determination and resolution in high-pressure situations
