D.C. Licensed Staff Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Staff Counsel to provide legal support and representation for public employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent clients in administrative and federal court litigation, mediation, and settlement
• Respond to employee requests for assistance and determine appropriate legal services
• Develop and implement legal strategies, conduct research, and monitor relevant policy issues

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in the District of Columbia Bar or another state bar
• Three or more years of civil or administrative litigation experience
• Experience with investigations by federal agencies or the Merit Systems Protection Board
• Familiarity with federal regulatory processes and environmental, public lands, or public health issues
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients and partner organizations
