DE Certified Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Experienced Mortgage Underwriters will find a full-time remote opportunity as a DE Certified Mortgage Underwriter IV, responsible for underwriting Government and Conventional loans by reviewing loan files to ensure compliance with company and investor standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage individual pipeline by completing underwriting reviews, appraisal reviews, and conditions reviews within defined turn times
• Identify document deficiencies, add applicable conditions, and request additional information from customers as needed
• Assist department members in interpreting underwriting guidelines and perform independent research of guidelines while reviewing loans

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the Mortgage Industry or Residential Mortgage Loan underwriting
• High school diploma required; DE or SAR certification is mandatory
• Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA Guidelines
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products and Encompass
• Advanced understanding of regulatory and legal compliance obligations in the mortgage industry
