DE Certified Underwriter IV

Job Summary

Managing a diverse portfolio of mortgage loans, the full-time Non-Delegated Underwriter IV will underwrite Government and Conventional loans by reviewing credit, capacity, and collateral characteristics to ensure compliance with company and investor standards, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Manage individual pipeline by completing underwriting reviews, appraisal reviews, and conditions reviews within defined turn times
• Identify document deficiencies, add applicable conditions, and request additional information from customers as needed
• Assist department colleagues in interpreting underwriting guidelines and perform independent research on guidelines and overlays

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in the mortgage industry or residential mortgage loan underwriting
• High school diploma required
• Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines
• DE or SAR certification required
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office products and Encompass
