DE/VA Licensed Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Collaborating with the origination team, the remote DE/VA Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will evaluate mortgage loan applications, analyze borrower financials, and provide thorough loan decisions while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate mortgage loan applications for compliance with company policies and regulations
• Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
• Collaborate with processors, loan officers, and stakeholders to resolve questions and expedite the underwriting process

Required qualifications

• Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
• Must have used DE and VA designation within the last 11 months
• Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
• Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
