DE/VA Licensed Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, a DE/VA Licensed Mortgage Underwriter will complete thorough analyses of loan files to ensure compliance with guidelines, underwrite credit packages for residential mortgage loans, and maintain productivity standards while assisting in training new underwriters.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze loan files for compliance with company, investor, and FHA/VA guidelines
• Underwrite credit packages and collateral for residential mortgage loans, ensuring investment quality
• Maintain productivity standards, including a 48-hour underwriting turnaround time and communicate decisions effectively

Required qualifications

• Minimum three years of mortgage underwriting experience with knowledge of underwriting guidelines
• Experience with private investor and private mortgage insurance guidelines
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
• Technologically proficient with strong organizational skills
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
