DE/VA Mortgage Underwriter

Job Summary

Collaborating with the origination team, the full-time remote DE/VA Mortgage Underwriter will evaluate mortgage loan applications, analyze borrower financials, and provide clear loan decisions while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate mortgage loan applications for compliance with company policies and regulations
• Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
• Collaborate with processors and loan officers to resolve questions and expedite the underwriting process

Required qualifications

• Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
• Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
• Proven history of longevity in prior roles
• Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
• Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
