Delaware Licensed Acute Care Coder

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time remote Delaware Licensed Acute Care Coder with ICD-10-PCS inpatient coding experience, who will be responsible for accurate assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes, data abstraction for reimbursement, and supporting billing and statistical reporting across various patient records.

Key responsibilities:

• Review and interpret patient records to assign appropriate ICD-10 CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT codes
• Perform coding and abstracting tasks to support billing and data quality, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines
• Utilize coding systems for communication and ensure timely coding and billing of accounts to meet departmental goals

Required qualifications:

• Knowledge of ICD-10-PCS inpatient procedure coding and CPT coding guidelines
• College diploma in Medical Coding or one year of coding experience in a healthcare environment
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology preferred
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and pathophysiology
• Familiarity with Official Inpatient and Outpatient Coding Guidelines
