Denial Management Manager

Job Summary

Providing strategic leadership and operational oversight, the full-time remote Denial Management Manager will manage a team of Denial Specialists, ensuring the timely resolution of denied and underpaid claims while driving continuous improvement and optimizing reimbursement processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Denial Specialists, providing coaching and performance management to meet departmental goals
• Own performance outcomes related to denial-related Accounts Receivable, including recovery and compliance with appeal timelines
• Conduct root-cause analysis of denial trends and implement corrective action plans to mitigate future issues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Seven years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with at least four years in denial management
• Three years of leadership experience supervising teams in denial resolution or related revenue cycle functions
• Working knowledge of government and non-government payer requirements and reimbursement rules
• Proficiency in Epic Hospital Billing (HB) and/or Professional Billing (PB) systems
