Deputy Chief Information Security Officer

Job Summary

Serving as the senior operating partner to the CISO, the full-time remote Deputy Chief Information Security Officer will manage day-to-day operations of the Information Security department, driving execution across security, IT, compliance, and risk workstreams while ensuring alignment with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily departmental operations, including team and leadership meetings, project reviews, and executive updates
• Lead and mentor team members across security, IT, compliance, and risk, fostering a high-performance culture
• Develop and refine security strategies aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements, establishing measurable outcomes and reporting

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT, security operations, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in people leadership, including team management and performance oversight
• Proven ability to run a security department or major program with minimal supervision
• Strong understanding of security, IT, compliance, and risk operating models
• Experience managing audits and compliance programs, including executive communication and evidence collection
