Job Summary
Providing strategic direction and program management, the full-time Deputy Director of Building Construction will lead a national initiative focused on advancing energy-efficient building construction through collaboration, research, and technical analysis, working fully remotely or from Washington, DC.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee the strategic planning and implementation of the Building Construction Collaborative, identifying barriers and developing solutions for energy-efficient construction
- Manage daily operations, coordinating activities among staff, partners, and contractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including workshops and convenings, to promote collaboration among government, industry, and community organizations
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years or a master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in building construction or related fields
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and facilitating large convenings
- Professional background in building design, construction, or performance, with familiarity in building energy codes or policies
- Experience in leading research and developing technical resources that inform policy or practice
- Proven ability to supervise staff and manage project teams effectively
