Deputy Director of Building Construction

Job Summary

Providing strategic direction and program management, the full-time Deputy Director of Building Construction will lead a national initiative focused on advancing energy-efficient building construction through collaboration, research, and technical analysis, working fully remotely or from Washington, DC.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee the strategic planning and implementation of the Building Construction Collaborative, identifying barriers and developing solutions for energy-efficient construction
• Manage daily operations, coordinating activities among staff, partners, and contractors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including workshops and convenings, to promote collaboration among government, industry, and community organizations

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years or a master's degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in building construction or related fields
• Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and facilitating large convenings
• Professional background in building design, construction, or performance, with familiarity in building energy codes or policies
• Experience in leading research and developing technical resources that inform policy or practice
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage project teams effectively
