Deputy Media Relations Director

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Deputy Director of Media Relations to support their national and international media presence and establish themselves as an authority in the clean transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain relations with journalists and media organizations, create media relations strategy, and contribute to editorial calendar
• Build and lead the media team, oversee media outreach, serve as spokesperson, and facilitate interviews, guest articles, and panel placements
• Oversee PR reports, internal and crisis communications, corporate social media strategy, and manage vendors and contractors

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications, Political Science, Social Science, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in media relations, preferably in the transportation, infrastructure, or energy sector
• General knowledge of U.S. political and economic system, climate and environmental challenges, and current transportation developments
• Experience managing relationships, advising on strategy, and coordinating efforts in multi-stakeholder settings
• Ability to analyze public opinion and make recommendations on policy decision making
