Job Summary

A company is looking for a Weekend Deputy Editor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pitch and assign story ideas with headlines for reporters to cover
• Monitor social media and search trends to find and identify stories and topics of interest for a U.S. audience
• Assist the weekend editor with day-to-day tasks, including tracking team metrics and assisting with promotion of the team's articles

Required Qualifications:

• At least five years experience in journalism
• Experience assigning stories with headlines
• Comfortable working on stories across a range of subjects and balancing multiple content strategies
• Able to work weekends along with three weekdays
• Familiarity with using SEO and Google trends
