Design Engineer - Electrical

Job Summary

Supporting dynamic power system studies, the full-time Design Engineer - Electrical will develop and test renewable energy models, perform dynamic system studies, and collaborate with clients on interconnection applications in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop PSSE, PSLF, TSAT, and PSCAD models of renewable plants and perform model quality tests
• Support interconnection applications through preliminary design and application documentation
• Conduct voltage and frequency ride-through studies and ensure compliance with NERC standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in power systems, with at least 1 year directly related to dynamic analysis
• Experience with PSS E and PSCAD for steady-state and dynamic analysis
• Familiarity with transmission system operators and regional interconnection requirements
• Preferred programming experience in Python
