Design Engineer III

Job Summary

Leading the conceptual and detailed design of aerospace structures, the full-time salaried Design Engineer III will create 2-D and 3-D models, perform engineering analyses, and support manufacturing and quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develops engineering documentation, including drawings and bills of materials, while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards
• Mentors junior engineers and provides technical support to internal teams, suppliers, and customers during development and production
• Reviews designs for cost, manufacturability, and quality assurance, and verifies calculations performed by peers

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent relevant experience and registration
• Typically 4-7 years of aerospace or defense experience
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Detailed knowledge of military and commercial design specifications
• Solid understanding of multiple engineering technologies and CAD/CAE tools relevant to mechanical systems design
