Design Systems Designer

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Design Systems Designer on a contract basis, the full-time position will focus on creating and modernizing a design system with a variable-based token architecture and a documented component library, all while working remotely within a fast-moving design team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build a structured design system with tokens, theming, and a component library in Figma
• Develop clear rules and documentation for component usage to facilitate implementation by designers, engineers, and AI coding agents
• Collaborate with design and engineering stakeholders to enhance the overall velocity and quality of product development

Required qualifications

• Mid-to-senior-level experience in building and maintaining design systems with a focus on tokens and theming
• Strong digital product design background with an emphasis on design systems work
• Experience working with AI in the development process
• Self-directed with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving team environment
• Proven communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
